Безбожное дитя самого безжалостного игрового поджанра, и проклятого аниме, уничтожит любые нервы сразу с нескольких направлений. Это игра про девочку-ведьму Меглило, которая позволяет злодеям сделать ход первыми, и только после этого наказывает их.
История
Маленькая ведьма Меглило стала свидетелем конфликта ученого, который создал пародию на Грендайзер, в игре Vulkaiser, и повелительницей инопланетян. Меглило решила вмешаться, что привело к её безвременной, и крайне болезненной кончине, после чего ученый сделал из неё робота. Теперь Меглило периодически борется с пришельцами, и больше не влезает в чужие разборки.
Chargeman Ken
Аниме 1974го года, которое является основным источником вдохновения для этой игры. Рассказывает историю про мальчика-социопата, который сначала стреляет, и никогда не задает вопросы. В среднем каждая серия длится по пять минут, и не отвечает ни на один вопрос. Музыка в аниме наложена криво, а иногда звук вообще отсутствует. Некоторые кадры не озаботились анимировать, а иногда даже и раскрасить, порядок серий перепутан, последовательность отсутствует напрочь, а еще в кадре периодически появляется волос. Сравнительно недавно этот ужас вернулся из небытия, и стал культовым аниме в Японии.
Достойный последователь
Witch-Bot Meglilo взяла у Кена полное отсутствие моральных установок, жестокость, дурацкого маскота, и отсутствие сострадания. В один момент можно даже увидеть семью Кена, но самого психопата поблизости не было.
Геймплей
Практически типичный представитель поджанра Shoot Them Up. В этом Bullet Hell, у вас маленький хитбокс, щиты, которые выдерживают до двух попаданий, заполняющие собой весь экран снаряды противника, толпы врагов между боссами, улучшения, которые воздействуют на ваш способ ведения огня, включая более рискованный ближний бой. Отличительной особенностью этой игры является способность останавливать время, и перемещаться в любую точку экрана, расходуя в процессе энергию. А в случае смерти, вас откатывает к ранее подобранным улучшениям, что заставляет охотиться на них даже тогда, когда они не нужны.
Заключение
Берегитесь невинно выглядящих игр, на которых присутствуют какие-либо иероглифы. В этой игре вы приглашаете врагов в сказочную страну, но на самом деле это ад. Да, в этой игре есть ад, и вы им повелеваете. Наука и магия слились воедино, чтобы творить зло по отношению ко злу.

Bullet Hell ADVANCED — это игра в жанре аркада и выживание, разрабатываемая Artificer Cascadia для платформы PC. Окружение в игре относится к cтилистике фэнтези, а выделить особенности можно следующие: early access, экшен, инди, скролл-шутер, ранний доступ, шутер с видом сверху, шутер, рогалик, сложная, лут, отличный саундтрек, shootem up, упрощённый рогалик, для одного игрока, одна жизнь, затягивающая, выживание. Вам будут доступны такие игровые режимы как «для одного игрока».
Во всем мире игра Bullet Hell ADVANCED будет распространяться по модели разовая покупка издателем Artificer Cascadia. На данный момент стадия игры — в разработке, а дата её выхода — 18.05.2018. Бесплатно скачать Bullet Hell ADVANCED, в том числе и через торрент, нельзя, поскольку игра распространяется по модели разовая покупка.
MMO13 еще не вынес Bullet Hell ADVANCED оценку. Игра распространяется в магазине Steam, пользователи которого еще не оставили отзывов.
Официальное описание игры гласит:
«Bullet Hell ADVANCED is an arena based arcade game where survival means not only destroying asteroids and enemies but evading hundreds upon hundreds of bullets, missiles and lasers all on screen at the same time.»
Не лучшая «часть» серии, но вполне подходящая для знакомства с жанром. Тем более, что она бесплатна для скачивания в Steam. Хотя проще от этого игра не становится. Я буду вашим гидом, пройдёмте.
Начнём знакомство с основ. Игра представляет собой вертикальный скролл-шутер с возможностью движения как по горизонтали, так и по вертикали в пределах экрана. Помимо стрелок, для управления нужны всего три кнопки: огонь на Z, использование заклинания на X и пауза/вывод меню на Esc. Всё. Предельно лаконично.
Сражения с боссами здесь проходят в несколько «фаз», которые начинаются при снижении здоровья босса до определённого уровня и называются Spell, то есть противник кастует заклинание, которое меняет условия схватки. Фактически, мы сражаемся не столько с боссом, сколько с последствиями его заклинаний.
А ещё здесь отличный саунд-дизайн и саундтрек. Достаточно динамичный, но без резких звуков и повышений громкости, которые могли бы отвлечь. Больше всего мне нравится вот этот трек:
Как-то комментировать сюжет, думаю, нет смысла. Игру делали фанаты из студии Dream Compass, так что. Есть оригинальная серия Touhou Project, созданная одним фанатичным японцем c псевдонимом ZUN, который и популяризировал (или даже создал) жанр данмаку (термин, которым на японском обозначают заградительный огонь), который уже на Западе стали называть bullet hell. Существует предание, что он не мог найти игры, которые понравились бы ему, поэтому решил сделать их сам.
И я прекрасно понимаю, почему у его игр столько фанатов. Потому что такое никто больше не делает. Я понимаю, что это «дежурная фраза», но. Я мог бы «выдать» что-то вроде «Это Dark Souls от мира скролл-шутеров», но не буду. Нет смысла сравнивать работы гениев. Каждая из них самоценна.
Да, фанаты ещё делают, причём неплохо. Но для тех, кому хочется прикоснуться к творчеству непосредственно ZUN’a, в Steam есть несколько его работ с демоверсиями, вот одна из них:

При этом каких-то существенных отличий в геймплее обозреваемой игры и этой я не заметил. Да и в других аспектах тоже. Разве что стилистика персонажей немного другая, но это же естественно. Так что для знакомства с жанром в целом Servants of Harvest Wish вполне подходит. Кому понравится она, понравятся и каноничные части Touhou. Хотя здесь всё в руках организаторов конкурса.
И еще немного о фанатских работах. Хотя по миру Touhou Project не было снято ни одного аниме с участием автора, кое-что, с пометками вроде «не имеет отношение к канону» всё-таки выпустили. Есть даже любительская русская озвучка (хотя лучше бы сделали ещё и вариант с субтитрами):
При просмотре невольно возникла мысль: вот бы Housemarque сделали такую Touhou на технологиях из Returnal.
Но в любом случае, человек полжизни (буквально) потратил на создание абсолютно уникальных игр. При этом не ушел ни в торговцы мерчем, ни в «кодзима-лайк» геймдизайнеры. Он просто работает, год за годом. За что безмерное ему уважение. И фанаты у него хорошие, раз делают такие игры и такие аниме. I LIKE IT!

Most modern bullet hell games give the player another way to avoid being killed, such as hypers in Do Don Pachi, Touhous deathbombs, or Giga Wings Attack Reflector. Though by no means easy, a bullet hell game can be cleared without memorizing patterns or continuing. In fact, Bullet Hell games tend to be just as difficult as older, less bullet-intensive games.
In addition, the bullet patterns are not the only elaborate things in these games. The scoring systems often require as much dedication to master as the bullet patterns. Some common elements including «grazing» (where a bullet passes through your character sprite but not your vital hitbox), collecting items dropped by enemies, and not dying. Like the bullet patterns, the scoring systems have become more complex as time went on, going from a very simple Combos based scoring system in Don Pachi to systems that take multiple pages just to describe the most basic elements like Hellsinker. The scores attained have also been subject to inflation.
The types of projectiles fired by enemies and bosses will almost always be colourful Energy Balls to make it easier to tell them from the background, and so you can distinguish them from your own bullets.

Frustrating difficult and almost impossible to beat, yes I am talking about bullet-hell shooters. Cool powerups, extremely difficult levels, tough bosses and fun gameplay with good replay value makes this a pretty awesome genre. Here is a list of top 27 bullet hell shooters. Pick your poison and have some fun.
27. Sine Mora
Chaotic gameplay and a lot of explosions.
Sine Mora is a horizontal 2d bullet hell shooter with lots of 3d elements. The player controls a plane and tries to blast his way through a seemingly endless horde of enemies.

The level design has a great emphasis on 3d environments; the levels look cool and feel great. The player doesn’t have a health bar, instead a timer runs on screen. If the player kills an enemy extra seconds are awarded and if the player takes a hit some time is deducted from the timer. The game goes on until the timer reaches zero.
The bigger they are the harder they fall.
The game features a cool gameplay mechanic which lets you slow down time for a few moments. This eases down the difficulty but is not reliable. The game also features an interestingstoryline, a father plans to overthrow an evil empire which is responsible for the death of his son while another story blends in with the last survivors of the Enkie race also plotting revenge on the Empire for destroying them.The emphasis on a complex story is great considering the genre.
26. Raptor Call of the Shadows: 2015 Edition
The mask looks very intriguing and cool.
Raptor Call of the Shadows: 2015 Edition is a remaster of the original game which was released on the DOS in the year 1994. The game was a classic hit on its release in the DOS.
The old school graphics looks cool.
The game’s 2015 edition does not change much from the original DOS edition. The graphics remain old school with an HQ filterand the game runs at a higher resolution. You will have to go through 27 levels to finish the game and each level features a unique boss, it features four different difficulty levels, new opponents arrive with increasing difficulty levels. Your ship can be upgraded after fighting a wave of enemies.
A must play cult classic.
You will enjoy the action filled levels and fighting through tough opponents,the game is a classic hit and a must have for fans of the shoot ‘emup genre.
25. Revolution Ace
Revolution Ace gameplay
Revolution Ace is a vertical bullet hell shooter developed by Laser Guided Games. Your job is to save humanity by infiltrating the AI core of the machines and win the war against them. This game is available on PC and iOS.
The artstyle is unique and looks good.
The game features different weapon combinations including missiles, lasers, shields, plasma rifles, ion cannons; you can unlock upgrades by taking down the enemies, finishing the levels and gaining experience points. You have to fight enemies which are on both air and ground. The enemies start getting extremely tougher in the later 20+ levels. The boss battles are unique but not that difficult. The game also features realistic physics and local & online multiplayer with co-op and versus mode.

This is a modern bullet hell shooter and is showing some great potential, also the game seems bug free and runs great. If you want a modern bullet hell shooter, you should definitely pick this up.
24. Astebreed
One of the best mecha shoot em ups out
In Astebreed, the player control a mechanical robot, also known as a mecha and uses it to fight off the aliens. The mecha is an ancient device which has a wide arsenal of weapons and advanced fighting systems to battle the aliens.
Mark, Shoot, Dodge and attack.
The game is played on three dimensions, horizontal, vertical and cross-axis i.e. 3d. Players can choose 3 types of mecha’s,Astebreed, Xbreed and Leading Sire,each controlled by a different character. The gameplay focuses on three action modes: shooter mode where the mecha shoots lasers; lock on mode, where the mecha locks on to the enemies and fires rockets/missiles, and blade mode, where the mecha uses its blade as a melee weapon to destroy enemies.
The behind the player camera looks cool and adds new gameplay elements.
The gameplay is extremely fast paced with fluid animations and smooth transitions from one dimension gameplay to the other. The game also features a fairly decent storyline with voice acting by quality actors and actresses.

How can one possibly dodge all the bullets?
The game features anime like cutscenes which drives the story and a balanced difficulty level so that everyone can enjoy it. eXceed also features gameplay mechanics like bullet grazing, which acts as ascore multiplier i.e. your score multiplies by an integer with each and every near miss of the bullet, and bullet cancelling, whereby bullets of same polarity as your ship won’t hit you. Suppose the polarity of the enemy bullet is red and your ship’s polarity is also red then the bullet won’t hit you. The gameplay is bundled with a good soundtrack to keep the adrenaline pumping.
Sometimes I get hypnotized looking at the bullet patterns.
22. Gundemonium Recollection
Flying witches with loads of guns
Gundemonium Recollection is a collection of three horizontal bullet hell shooters created by indie developer Platine Dispositif for the PS3, Windows and Android. The game features anime-style graphics and customizable characters.
A lady with swords, guns and missiles is hard to handle.
In Gundemonium Recollection players can choose from 3 different playable characters out of which 2 are available from the start and one can be unlocked during gameplay. Three modes are made available to the player: story, practice and mission. Story mode allows player to play the ingame story with the selected character, in the mission mode the player is able to choose the level and the player and in practice mode the player will continue to respawn until the level is finished.
The story is decent, but that’s not a main factor in bullet hell games. The bosses are quite difficult and challenging and the gameplay is fast paced with customizable options like character costumes, guns and different charactersto suit the player’s playstyle.
