Жизнь в теплых регионах не лишена своего очарования: температура здесь не опускается ниже нуля, круглый год есть разные фрукты, люди доброжелательны и приветливы. Карибы или страны, которые омывает Карибское море — это тот самый рай на земле, куда едут отдыхать туристы со всего мира. В этой статье мы подробно разберем что такое Карибы и с чем придется столкнуться тем, кто любит пальмы и там, где погорячее. 
Карибское море
Карибы — это где? Когда речь заходит о Карибах, не все понимают, где это находиться и что за страны входят в это понятие. Ответ на самом деле прост. К Карибам принадлежат те территории, которые омываются Карибским морем. Мексика — это Карибы? Да. Доминикана — это Карибы? Да. Куба — это Карибы? И снова да.
Как правило о континентальной части вспоминают не сразу, однако побережья Северной, Центральной и Южной Америки также являются частью этого понятия. 
Обычно при упоминании Кариб люди в первую очередь думают о Кубе, Доминиканской Республике, Пуэрто-Рико. Самые крупные острова моря славятся на весь мир своими белоснежными пляжами и курортным отдыхом круглый год. Меньше туристов предпочитают посещать небольшие острова.
Однако, зачастую, отдых в таких отдаленных местах оказывается наиболее запоминающимся. Только представьте: белый песок, пальмы и отсутствие туристов. Только вы и чистейшая морская вода, что может быть приятнее? Сан-Андрес — один из таких островов, подробнее о нем я писала здесь.
Если говорить о туристических направлениях, то нужно сказать, что Большие и Малые Антильские острова — самые популярные. Протянувшись от полуострова Юкатан в Мексике до Венесуэлы, они ограничивают Карибский бассейн с севера и востока.
Интересный факт: Тринидад — крупнейший остров среди Малых Антильских. Так находиться крупнейшее месторождение асфальта в мире.
География
Как понять какая страна относиться к Карибам, а какая нет разобрались. Говоря о Карибах, люди часто подразумевают свое. У этого региона границы весьма условны.
Острова Карибского моря, Вест-Индия, Карибский бассейн, — все это Карибы.
Геологически часть Антильских островов с Центральной Америкой принадлежит отдельной Карибской литосферной плите. Эта территория не относиться ни к Северной, ни к Южной Америке.
Географы чаще всего причисляют Карибские острова к территории Северной Америке, но могут и объединять их с Центральной Америкой.
Карибы или нет
Исторически Антильские острова объединяют с другим крупным архипелагом — Багамами в регион Вест-Индия.
Несмотря на то, что Багамы располагаются в Атлантическом океане, их почти всегда относят к Карибам. Почему так происходит? Багамы располагаются в непосредственной близости от Карибского бассейна. Для многих география островов не столь важна. 
Историческое влияние
Не так давно вся территория Карибского моря была большой колонией различный мировых держав. Здесь велись морские бои, орудовали пираты и вершилась история.
Рабовладельцы привозили рабов из Африки, флибустьеры организовывали свой порядок. После обретения независимости, страны во многом унаследовали влияние своих бывших колонизаторов: их культуру, религию, язык и обычаи.
Именно поэтому на этой территории такое разноплановое политическое и государственное устройство. Люди говорят на разных языках и на разных диалектах, а в некоторых странах есть несколько официальных языков.
В наще время Карибы — это сметь различных культур и традиций. Здесь чувствуется влияние Европы и дыхание Африки. Страны этого региона представляют наследство наследство испанских, британских, французских, датских, шведских, голландских и американских колоний.
Культура
Сказать, что культура народов Карибского бассейна богатая — ничего не сказать. До колонизации у местных жителей была сформирована своя система того, как устроен мир. Они обладали большим количеством мифов и легенд, которые в малом количестве дошли до наших дней.
Однако при путешествиях Колумба, один из его товарищей записал один миф гаитянских индейцев.
По другому верованию, все моря на Земле произошли вследствие всемирного потопа, который наслало на Землю сверхчеловеческое существо.
Насыщенная история здешних земель вдохновила большое количество писателей на создание литературных произведений.
Габриэль Гарсия Маркес — колумбийский писатель, создал несколько романов, прославивших его на весь мир. 
Алехо Карпентьер — кубинский писатель, описывал жизнь и нравы жителей Карибов.

Пиратская тема стала источником вдохновения для знаменитого писателя Даниэля Дефо и Рафаэля Сабатини.
В кинематографе тема пиратства была освещена со всех ракурсов. Но самый известный и так любимый всеми нами фильм «Пираты Карибского моря» как нельзя лучше приоткрывает завесу на непростые времена пиратства, работорговли, разбоя и политический интриг. 
В Карибском регионе также возникло несколько музыкальных жанров. Регги и ска возникли на Ямайке. Под ритмы Боба Марли до сих пор танцуют на островах Карибского моря. Кажется, что этот дух там был всегда.
Доминикана подарила нам меренге и бачату. Реггетон происходит из Пуэрто-Рико и Панамы. Кумбия, порро и вальенато родились на карибском побережье Колумбии.
Не зря у всего мира Латинская Америка ассоциируется с музыкой, танцами и весельем. Так оно и есть! Но есть и такие вещи, к которым у меня так и не получилось привыкнуть. Об этом подробно здесь.

Карибы — это райские пляжи, теплое море и мягкий климат. Приезжая сюда, вы убедитесь в том, что этот регион имеет чистейшее море и уникальную фауну. Дайвинг, серфинг, морские прогулки — каждый найдет себе развлечение по вкусу. Ну и конечно местный размеренный ритм жизни сделает ваш отпуск незабываемым!
