When I try to install the plugin on windows 10, the error «Installation failed because of a file operation error». On Windows 8.1 is no such errors.

I have gotten this error also when trying to use on my team mates mac’s, I think its related to permissions.

Hi, a little bit late but i can translate what the russian guy said, wich worked for me.
Step 1:
Find the appdata folder and for that 2 solutions

Put all your files here, in this folder extensions, i even put my zxpinstaller program here. Make sure you run the application in administrator mode. Install your extension normally and it should work.

Download and install ZXP Installer
Clone this repo git clone https://github.com/bodymovin/bodymovin.git
Browse to bodymovin/build/extension/
Open ZXP Installer, and drag extension into ZXP installer window.
Installation failed because of a file operation error
What am I doing wrong?

Now another problem.
Bodymovin-TG when rendering animation leave an empty file. Animation is not displayed. I thought that the problem was in the file ai itself. But I tried to do just one lap in motion. Displays anyway empty animation.
What could be the problem?

In the portable version of the plug-in screen is empty. I also don’t know why.
I would at least in one version configure it for work.

Through bodymovin it turns out to make a demo. And it will play normally in the browser. And in Bodymovin-TG empty animation.

I’m not involved with that extension, but I guess it doesn’t support rasterized layers, only vectors.
I suggest that you post the issue in their repository.

У некоторых пользователей иногда возникают проблемы со скриптами, панелями расширений и плагинами для программ Adobe (не удаётся установить ZXP, не работает должным образом сам скрипт и т.п.).
Для решения этих проблем иногда надо просто включить дебаг для продуктов Adobe в реестре.
В [Только зарегистрированные и активированные пользователи могут просматривать ссылки. ] эта функция есть в настройках самого инсталлера (ставите галочки и нажимаете ОК)
Авторы часто проставляют в манифесте только текущую версию АЕ, не задумываясь о том, что версии меняются. Когда делалось расширение, которое у вас не отображается, версии Аfter Еffects, выше указанной в манифесте, ещё не было.
Откройте файл C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\НАЗВАНИЕ РАСШИРЕНИЯ\CSXS\manifest.xml в любом текстовом редакторе и замените в показанной строке максимальную версию на 99.9
Это же касается и работы расширений в старых версиях программ Adobe. В этом случае надо понизить минимальную версию до версии вашего ПО.
Если и после этих манипуляций программа Adobe не видит расширение, то это расширение не будет работать в этой версии ни при каких условиях (например в АЕ СС 2019 работа с выражениями, JSX и JSXBIN организована по другому алгоритму). Ищите версию именно под свою версию Adobe.

ZXP installer says «Installation failed because the extension is not compatible with the installed applications», I’m on the latest version of photoshop cc 2015.5 and my extension is supported. Are there some issues with the application or is it my extension though?
It’s the Retouching Toolkit of Conny Wallstrom.

Unfortunately that’s all the information that the Adobe installer that ZXPInstaller is built on provides, so I’m not entirely sure. If you’re confident your extension (the actual files you have on hand) does support the applications you have installed, it might be a bug with the Adobe installer.
Do you have the Extension Manager installed? If so, try uninstalling it, restart your computer, and then try installing your extension with ZXPInstaller again. Extension Manager has been known to cause strange conflicts when installed.

@arajay ZXP Installer uses ExManCmd, Adobe’s official command line tool for installing extensions. You can learn more about it here: https://www.adobeexchange.com/resources/28. Implementation-wise, all ZXP Installer does when you drag an extension onto it is capture the filename and then create the command line string needed to run Adobe’s tool.
Adobe dropped support for the Extension Manager after CC 2014, so it isn’t possible to install CC 2015.5 extensions with the Extension Manager. However, because some extensions support versions that did work with the Extension Manager, you’ll find that it will still launch and try to install them, probably one of the most common support tickets I answer for my extensions.
The metadata used to define how extensions are installed is the same between ExMan (ZXP Installer) and the Extension Manager, and as far as I know, they use the same system storage for managing and checking which extensions are and are not installed. Adobe extension installation is notoriously buggy and I’ve seen many instances where one Adobe tool causes silent conflicts with others. By deleting the Extension Manager, which is obsolete if you’re using CC 2015.5, you remove half of the conflict letting Adobe’s other installer do all the work.
Nothing shady, just the ugly underbelly of Adobe software.

I am also getting this issue. I do not have Extension Manager installed, have Illustrator CC 2017.0.2 installed. Any suggestions?

Not sure if this is the same issue, but it seems that now there is a new ExManCmd and if you have like in my case Adobe Premiere Pro 2018 then the ExManCmd that you have here doesn’t work.
I was able to install my extension manually after downloading new ExManCmd, but with yours I have «Installation failed because the extension is not compatible with the installed applications» error.
I was testing this on Windows 10.
