What are Delves?
Delves are new, endless cave dungeons filled with increasingly difficult combat, randomized monster modifiers, and exciting new items to loot! Quickly dive through these procedurally generated Delves, complete the objectives, and defeat the boss fast enough for great rewards and the ability to keep going deeper! The further you progress, the greater the challenges and the rewards!

Find the Public Delves entrance in the Hub and select from a wide variety of classes, utilize your Geode equipment, and choose your flasks wisely as you battle your way to unlock incredible rewards especially for end game content. The initial release for the Trove Delves update will be on PC only and then will release on PS4 and Xbox One consoles at a later date.

Public Delves Delves that are open to public or players queued during that time and determine your Public Delve Score based on progress. Join the Public Delve Queue Portal in the Hub (where the Bomber Royale building used to be) and whichever class is selected will be locked in for this Public Delve. The difficulty of Public Delves is determined by the Public Delve Score for the queued class of each player that ends up in the Delve group and at most will take 10 minutes to find a group to start. The /joinme command can be used to reinvite players who may have disconnected, but cannot be used to invite new players into a Public Delve. Mounts and wings can be used in Public Delves (except for Gandas special ability).

Private Delves Delves that are limited to select players and the overall difficulty is determined by the Public Delve Score for the queued classes at the time the Delve starts. Join a Private Delve by placing a Delve Gateway (Private) in build mode and remember to be careful as anyone nearby can use it. The owner of a Delve Gateway (Private) will automatically queue when placed and can interact with it by sending messages or advancing the queue to start the Delve. Private Delves allow players to change their class at will, but they are limited to only use Delve mounts and wings. The /joinme command can be used to invite more players (up to a maximum of eight unique players in to a delve).

Challenge Delves Delves that are set as a fair playing field for all delvers to compete against others and determine who can go the furthest in this specific weeks challenge. Join a Delve Gateway (Challenge Mode) or Delve Gateway (Challenge Easy) by obtaining it from the Delve Workbench. Challenge Delves pose a weekly challenge set with the same objectives, creatures, and levels for everyone for that week only. The challenge level begins at 110 each week and there are Leaderboards for the deepest depth reached and fastest time for clearing 3 consecutive tiers in a row. Challenge Delves allow players to change their class at will, but /joinme or using the friends list to join are not enabled.

How many people can be in a Delve?
Up to 8 unique players may be in a Delve and it is locked to those 8 unique players that join, this may not be changed or exceed 8 players. Delve queues focus matching players together based on the overall power and skill. If a player dies in a Delve, it will increase the time it takes to release when their next death occurs, but remember allies will always be able to resurrect others in just a few seconds!

What kind of rewards do I get from Delves?
Defeat a Delve boss to have a Pressurized Chest appear. For every 3rd consecutive tier cleared this drop will upgrade to a Heavy Pressurized Chest with additional loot. After Depth 25 and beyond, a Shadowy Soul Vault will also appear with special rewards when a Heavy Pressurized Chest drops. A Delve Shadowkey is required to open the Shadowy Soul Vault.

Inert Geodes New currency type that can be acquired inside Delves. Theres a maximum amount allowed to be obtained, so be sure to use it before reaching the cap. An Inert Geode Wallet can be obtained to increase this cap as well.

Pressure-Locked Delve Caches Caches with Delve-related items that can be purchased for Inert Geodes from a Geodian merchant trapped within Delves They can also be obtained as drops from Heavy Pressurized Chests, as a reward for donating Inert Geodes, and occasionally sold or exchanged for other Delve related goods.

Mementos New collectible in Delves, and each Memento grants mastery based on the enemies fought within the Delve Tier. Mementos decay after 3 hours of online time if they are not learnt, but can be deconstructed in to Pressure-Locked Delve Caches.

Delve recipes New delve recipes for advanced tracking potions can be found on Geodian Merchants that are also trapped within Delves. Trapped Geodians are freed occasionally when defeating Delve Lair Bosses.

Delve allies New allies can be found in appropriate biomes or crafted at the Delve Workbench.

Delve mounts New mounts, some of which are special Shadow Tower boss themed mounts, are available to acquire.

Crystal Gear New Crystal 4 gear is obtainable only within Delves for the most daring and expert explorers.

What level or mastery level can I join Delves?
There is no level or mastery restriction to join Delves, so new or experienced players are welcome to join. In Public Delves, players are typically paired with others around their appropriate skill and power levels and the Delves encountered are adjusted accordingly.

What about Shadow Day and Shadow Towers?
Shadow Day is now changed to Delve Day with triple Crystal, Shadow Shard, and Inert Geode Drops for Patrons and only double Crystal, Shadow Shard, and Inert Geode Drops for non-Patrons.

Shadow Towers can now open directly to the boss lair, but there is an increased cost to open the portals. The Shadow Tower Leaderboard purple name has moved to the Challenge: Deepest Depth (Weekly) Leaderboard. Shadow Towers have had Titan Soul, Lunar Soul, Binding Darkness, and Starfire Dragon Egg Fragments drops removed since they can now be obtained through Delves.

Delves provide exciting and engaging new challenges ahead while also offering the potential to improve our overall server stability by helping reduce some lag and connection issues generated from Shadow Towers. Rewards have been shifted accordingly for Delves, but Shadow Towers still remain for those looking to adventure there.

Release

Trove Delves was released on May 5th 2020 for the PC public servers, And July 7th 2020 for console servers

Shadow Towers

This update will make Shadow Towers look useless. Purple name will retire with the update, as with Daughter of the Moon. This will likely return later on as a delves reward.

Gameplay

Currency

Inert Geode is the currency in Delves. A certain amount of this can be held at a time. This amount can be increased by using Inert Geode Wallets.

Crystal Level 4 is now be obtainable only through delves. This came with the addition of Uber-11.

Mastery Changes

Trove mastery will reward +1.5% health, +0.5 damage, and +10 power rank until Trove mastery level 200. Geode Mastery will now give 10 light and 5 power rank untill Geode Mastery level 100. Mastery points has also been increased for numerous items.

Delves Overview

Delves are type of gameplay which combines caves from Geode with procedural-generated combat opportunities. Delves are time-sensitive so players need to complete objectives and defeat the Boss in time to be able to receive rewards and have an option to keep going deeper. With the increased depth the challenge and rewards grow.

Types

There are 3 kinds of Delves – Public, Private and Challenge. Up to 8 players can enter any of them.

Depth

Initial Depth is calculated based on your classes Power Rank, and how deep they have progressed on that class in Public Delves.

Dungeons can drop Stable Gateways which allow you to start Delves at a specific Depth.

Completing a Delve

Each Delve is affected by a combination of Deltaliths – mutators that can change stats of mobs and players as well as affect other aspects of Delve walkthrough.

To complete a delve players must complete its Objective displayed in top right corner of user interface. Objectives can differ from killing all monsters in X rooms to collecting X crystals. Monsters do not respawn so cleaning out the room always makes a Checkpoint – safe spot. Checkpoint rooms get marked on compass – progress bar and a warm blue light appears in the room.

Delves are a dangerous place. In them, each death of a player increases their respawn time by 5 seconds. That accumulated time is reset when the Boss lair is reached. Fellow players are always able to resurrect you in 4 seconds. Respawning without help of others returns the player to the entrance room of that Delve tier. Conveniently, there is an Intra-Delve Transport, using it will send the player forward to farthest fully cleared (Checkpoint) room.

If the Delve Objective has been completed and one player from the group has reach the Boss room, other players will be presented with pop-up window offering a quick teleport to Boss room. Players outside of Boss room cannot get rewards from the chest.

There is a Boss trophy before every Boss Room to give a quick indication of what players will be facing. Boss lairs can also have some Deltaliths indicating challenges that accompany the boss.

Rewards

After defeating the boss a chest (or two!) will appear. Regular Pressurized Chest and Heavy Pressurized Chest do not require anything special to be unlocked. They drop new untradable currency –
currency»> Inert Geodes, Banner Poles and Standards, special Boss themed mounts and banner recipes, gear pieces and rarely Mementos – brand new collectables. Pressurized chests can appear at any depth.

Every 3 rd consecutive completed Delve after depth 25 has a Heavy Pressurized Chest and a Shadowy Soul Vault. To open the Vault you need
key»> Delve Shadowkey, their fragments can be obtained from any dungeon or world boss outside of Delves. In the first 6 vaults per week you can find
Obtained from the first six Shadowy Soul Vaults opened in Delves each week.

crafting»> Despoiled Divinity, after that they will continue dropping Shadow Caches and Shards.

You have to complete in total of 18 Delve floors a week to get all Titan and Lunar soul rewards.

Rarely at deepest Delves of Uber 10 or 11 it is possible to find new tier of Crystal Gear – 4. It can only be obtained in Delves.

If the boss was reached and defeated within a time limit, a Ready Station will appear. Interact with it and stand close by to speed up the Portal to next level – deeper Delve.

If the team took too long to reach or defeat the boss, a Warning Sign will appear instead of Ready Station and you would not be able to proceed further. Do not worry though, you can always queue for another Public Delve or open your own Private or Challenge portal.

In any outcome, a
Building»> Personal Chest,
Building»> Loot Collector,
Building»> Shadow Key Mold and more might appear after the boss is defeated. Discovery Suit layout NPC Pell is always there if you would want to change modules around. Flasks get automatically refilled once the boss is initially summoned and again once the boss is defeated. All dead players get automatically resurrected when Boss is slain.

There are 6 new badges for completing Public, Private, and Challenge delves.

Public Delves ⏷

Randomly picks group of queued Trovians. Portal Always available in Hub.

Public Delves are the first type of delve available to players, to enter one head to the Hub.

There is a new Delve building in the east section of Trovian Hub, right where the PvP building used to be. In there you can find Public
Building»> Delve Gateway portal together with new
Building»> Delve Workbench, new daily Delve Adventure NPC, Delve Merchant and
Building»> Module Forge with
Building»> Module Workbench.

Interacting with a portal will queue player for a Delve. Public Delve queue is global, meaning people queued in different Hubs can end up together. Queue wait can be up to 5 minutes long. After that time passed, a queued played will be sent into the Delve. If there were other people of matching rank queued they will be sent in Delve together. If not – the player will end up alone. Do not worry, the difficulty of Delves scales to the players who are in it.

Note: Once queued for a Delve of any type, the player will stay queued even after going to another world.

Interact with the portal again at any time to un-queue from the Public Delve. Players who log out while being queued will be unqueued automatically.

Note: It is not allowed to switch classes inside of Public Delves (unlike Private Delves). You will be sent into the Delve with a class you had active when queuing.

All mounts and wings can be used in Public Delves. It is also allowed to switch equipment and gems.

Chat command /joinme can be used to re-invite players who may have disconnected or left the Public Delve for some other reasons. However, it cannot be used to invite players to Public Delve who were not there when the Delve started.

Private Delves ⏷

Portals needs to be crafted and placed by Players. Can enter alone or with up to 7 others, invites allowed.

Private Delve portals can be crafted by Players at
Building»> Delve Workbench and placed anywhere where you have building rights – in Club worlds, on personal cornerstone or in various Adventure worlds. Once placed, anyone can use the portal to register for that delve.

Note: Only one
Building»> Delve Gateway (Private Mode) can be placed by player at a time. If additional ones are placed they will disappear right away.

Player who placed the Private Delve Portal gets automatically queued for that Delve. Up to 7 other people can queue together with the portal owner.

Portal owner can interact with it at any moment. First interaction will send a message to queued players to get ready. Second interaction will rush the queue and send everyone queued into that Delve. If at any moment a full set of 8 players is queued, the portal will trigger and send everyone in the Delve right away.

If a Private Delve Portal is broken using the mining laser, it will return to the owner’s building inventory and unqueue all queued players.

Note: At least one person should stay with the portal. If all nearby players run away from it, it will unqueue everyone and destroy itself.

Private delves allow players to change their class at will. However, only Delve mounts and Wings can be used in Private Delves COLLECTION LINK

Challenge Delves ⏷

Portals needs to be crafted and placed by Players. Can enter alone or with up to 7 others.

Every depth of Challenge Delves has same objectives and creatures for all Delvers that week. There are two craftable Challenge portals –
Building»> Delve Gateway (Challenge Mode) and
Building»> Delve Gateway (Challenge Easy), both crafted at
Building»> Delve Workbench and require same amount of materials.

Challenge Delves start at the Depth 110 and Easy portal will always have this depth as starting one.

However, every time a group of players or single player progress through the Challenge Delve, their personal difficulty will be locked to the last completed Challenge Delve depth.

> For example, you start alone at 110 and complete 15 Challenge Delves. Next time you place Challenge Mode portal this week your starting difficulty will be 125, but Easy Challenge portals will still open a 110 Depth no matter your progression.

At the end of every week all personal progressions decay by 8, but will never drop below 110.

> For example, you reached Challenge Delve Depth of 130 this week, next week your personal Challenge Mode portal will offer 122 starting Depth.

As with the Private portals, Challenge Delve portals can be placed anywhere where you have building rights, and any players can queue in.

Delve Objectives ⏷

In Delves, players must complete an Objective to unlock the Boss Fight.

Each Delve will have its own random objective based on multiple factors such as Delve Type, Depth and available Deltaliths. Multiple players in the Delve can be contributing to the objective completion at the same time.

In all Delves players get 7 minutes and 30 seconds to complete the Objective and reach Boss room, if that fails the further progression in that delve will be locked.

These are mutiple types of Objectives that can be presented to players:

Once the objective is completed, at least one player much reach the Boss room to stop the timer. Once Boss cursed skulls are activated, Boss timer will start – 3 minutes. Failing to kill the Boss in under 3 minutes will also lock further progression in that Delve.

Delve Currencies ⏷

A new currency – Inert Geodes – can be acquired inside the Delves. They are not tradable and only a certain amount of them can be carried in the inventory at any given time. Starting capacity is 700, and then players can purchase two Inert Geode Wallets from NPC Merchant in the Hub, which add 200 each.

Building»> Delve Gateway (Private Mode) and both challenge portals, every Banner needs some to be crafted and every Permanent Torch needs some to be upgraded. All the new Delve allies require some too, plus, new Vaca-Matic Discovery Suit module needs extensive amounts of
currency»> Inert Geodes to be crafted and upgraded.

Aside from that,
currency»> Inert Geodes can be donated at the
Building»> Delve Workbench for a chance to receive some
lootbox»> Pressure-Locked Delver’s Caches.

Each monster in Delves has a chance to drop
currency»> Inert Geodes. A bit of them can be obtained from every Boss Pressurized Chest, with the amount depending on the Delve Depth, and Heavy Pressurized Chests have higher amounts.
