I have Reaper and each time I tried to drag and drop an audio file from my desktop or any other place it makes an error (Could not import 1 of 1 items!). I tried it with a waw. file and an mp3. and nothing!
I am a dancer/choreographer and I want to use Reaper to edit music for my choreos, thus, i have NO experience with DAW and not much technical knowledge. Please help me!

Have you tried the Media Explorer window?
Over on the left, navigate to the desired file and double click it. REAPER should pull it into a new track— as long as it’s a recognized format.
closes the Media Explorer window as well.

Try doing a Insert/MediaFile and selecting it from the Desktop.
There is no setting that needs to be set as far as I know to get Reaper to support drag and drop.
You should install Reaper again and MAKE SURE you have the correct version of Reaper for your Mac

Вы используете чей-то конфиг?
На скрине у вас ошибка миди выходов и входов звуковой карты Steinberg и миди-клавиатуры Axelvox. Это ваши устройства?
И вообще как ошибки MIDI связаны с записью дубляжа?
Вам надо выбрать в настройках Рипера свою звуковую карту на вход и выход. И всё (если в её вход подключен микрофон, а на выходе мониторы (колонки) или наушники).
На треке активировать запись, мониторинг (если надо) и выбрать вход микрофона для записи.
Скрины сделаны на маке, на винде настройки Рипера выглядят чуть иначе.

Поставить чистый Рипер. Не надо никакой конфиг-файл сверху накатывать, забудьте про него. У вас этих устройств в миди и не будет. (если их физически нет)
В настройках аудио у вас вроде всё верно.
Потом создать трек, актировать на нем запись и выбрать вход на треке. В вашем случае выбираете Input 1 или Input 2 (Mono). Это уже на треке, не в настройках.
Главное никакого конфига! Забудьте про windows for voiceover.ReaperConfigZip
Настройте для начала запись с микрофона и нормальное воспроизведение.

Тут как я заметил есть ответ почему у меня выскакивала ошибка по MIDI. Как я посмотрел в той папке «гай по риперу» версия программы старая 5.79, после ее установки и копирования всех плагинов выскакивала окно по дополнительным обновлениям, вот полный список, можно заметить что MIDI там используется чаще:

А при установке файла конфигурации, заметил что он собран из тем, шаблонов и кучи дополнений! В итоге и получается, если все старое мы ставим на новое, новую программу, вот скорее всего и получается ошибка.
Меня интересует правильная настройка Reaper перед первым запуском.
Чтобы начать работать с программой, вам действительно следует применить некоторые настройки. Вот основные из них:
1. При первом запуске программы, выскочит табличка с предупреждением, что аудио устройство еще не выбрано и предложит вам это сделать. Соглашаемся.
В появившемся меню вам нужно выбрать и назначить динамики или гарнитуру, в зависимости от того, чем вы собираетесь прослушивать получившиеся композиции.
Это появившееся меню как раз и представляет собой конфигурацию системы. Пройдемся по основным параметрам настроек.
2. Поднимитесь немного выше в настройках и перейдите в меню Paths.
Здесь нужно назначить пути, куда будет по умолчанию сохраняться обработанное аудио. Рекомендуем создать для данной программы одну папку и все полученные результаты работы с программой сохранять туда.
Вот это пока что все настройки. В процессе работы с программой, в зависимости от ваших потребностей, могут понадобиться какие-то незначительные мелкие коррективы в настройках. Но основное мы с вами сделали. Можно работать.
