This Error comes if i updated all (game and reinstall SMM) and in Error Log it shows this:

I have the same issue. Seems that 3.1.0 expects a version number v0.4.2.1 151773 that is currently on experimental. But even when you specify v3.0.0 the installed version is stuck on 3.1.0 and you can’t launch. I updated to experimental and I am able to launch.

Closing this issue since it has been resolved by updates to the base game and SML.

most mods are not updated yet, apparently you have to make a new profile and re download the ones that have updated. Im giving it a shot.
edit: ive been fighting this for over 30 min and i give up. Im going to forcibly delete every single file related to this «mod» manager and call it done.

Hi, right, I am unable to load the game as I keep getting the same message over and over again about the sml not being found.
Now I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the game and SMM, but I still am receiving the same message, any ides?
Right,I found the problem after checking all my mods and uninstalling and reinstalling the game and the mod manager.
It turns out the it was a mod that was coursing the problem after all that.
2.4.3 is the SMM version you need if you’re playing stable update 4. 2.4.4 is for the experimental version, and you will get the error you describe if you use it for the stable version.

That’s weird, I am using 2.4.4 on the stable version with no problems
Edit: I went to GITHUB and it looks like the comments were changed. Or maybe I just read it wrong the first time.
You should be using 2.4.3 for Early Access. Although I am also using version 2.4.4 for Early Access without issues.

Smart needs an update for the exp branch. And the latest version of smm only works with experimental. Should still be able to use version 3.0 of smm and smart in the EA version. EDIT confirmed still working.
If you go to mod manager settings then SML versions, make sure 3.0 is selected, restart and try again? Also what error are you getting?
I disabled the 2.4.4 update for now until Experimental goes to Early Access, so you can safely download 2.4.3 and it won’t update. But that also means that if you want to play on Experimental you need to download the 2.4.4 update yourself

Just confirmed that SMM 2.4.3 fixes the issue. I was running into the exact same error message last night. I installed SMM 2.4.3 using the link below, and the game loaded with Smart! installed. Thanks to /u/Zephyries and /u/mircearopa for the replies below.
i had the same problem. you have to unload all your mods, then update sml, then reinstall the mods, or it won’t update sml to 3.0 correctly even though is says it is.

I had the same issue. Restarted and it worked again.
Im glad that worked for you! I had to un-install the the current version of SMM and downloaded the 2.4.3 version of SMM, that cleared up all my problems! Cheers!

Launch game using SMM. That should fix the problem.
If it doesn’t, using SMM remove all mods, then start Satisfactory
Add 1 mod at a time, and restart game until you find which mod is broken.
Mod manager stopped working. I NEEEED the smart mod. Please help.
Okay, so these last couple of days, every time I start the game with mods enables, I get en error message saying «Plugin ‘SML’ failed to load because module ‘SML’ could not be found».
I tried reinstalling SMM, clear cache, tried other mods, reinstalling again, change the SML version and everything else I can think of.
I am on the EA version (not experimental, although I was before the stable came out).

Is there anyone who can help me resolve this? I have uninstalled the Satisfactory Mod Manager hoping that would help, but no luck.

Instead, use the correct SMM version for your game: SMM v2.4.3 for Early Access and SMM v2.4.4 for Experimental. This is the first time in the history of SMM that you need to install a specific version, but it will also be the last time ( TM ) and it will only last until the version from Experimental is moved to Early Access
All you have to do is restart SMM. That will make it verify the mod install, part of which is changing the BuildID in the mod files. By default UE checks that it is equal to the game BuildID, but CSS will remove this check soon. For now SMM updates it, but you have to make it do that, by restarting it.
I can however start Satisfactory (experimental) with SMM as long as I have no mods selected. The game will start fine and a mods button is shown in the bottom left, Where is shows SML 3.1 is loaded.
The log in %appdata%\SatisfactotoryModManager\Logs contains a logfile with:

Anyone have an idea how to get it working?
I tried Googling and checked at the Smart mod page, but did not come across any relevant info (only post of broken mods when U4 just came out).
